Grau de conhecimento dos cirurgiões-dentistas na prescrição de colutórios e dentifrícios / Degree of knowledge of dentists in the prescription of collutorium and dentifrices

RESUMO

Introdução - O controle do biofilme dentário é fundamental para prevenção e tratamento das doenças periodontais. Isso requer dos pacientes grande interesse e o bom conhecimento do cirurgião-dentista a respeito dos produtos disponíveis atualmente no mercado brasileiro. Material e Métodos – Foram entrevistados 165 dentistas da cidade de Fortaleza independente do tempo de formado e da especialidade, excluindo-se a Periodontia. Resultados – O colutório mais indicado foi o Periogard 55 (33,3%); O ingrediente ativo com mais acerto foi a clorexidina 132 (80%); Com relação ao regime terapêutico da clorexidina 73 (44,2%) não responderam e, 29 (17,6%) responderam corretamente; Os dentifrícios mais indicados foram da marca Colgate 87 (52,7%); Com relação ao Colgate Total 12, 24 (60%) indicaram o seu ingrediente ativo corretamente. Conclusão - Um baixo conhecimento na prescrição dos colutórios e também no conhecimento dos ingredientes ativos tanto dos colutórios quanto dos dentifrícios foi observado no grupo avaliado.

ABSTRACT

Introduction - The dental biofilm control is very important to prevention and treatment of periodontal diseases. This, require from the patients a great interest and a good knowledge of the dentist about the available products in the brazilian market. Materials and Methods - One hundred sixty-five dentists were interviewed in the city of Fortaleza, independent of time of graduation or specialization, excluding the periodontists. Results - The collutorium most indicated was the Periogard 55 (33.3%); The active ingredient with more adjustment was the chlorhexidine 132 (80%); With respect to therapeutic regimen of chlorhexidine 73 (44.2%) did notanswer, and 29 (17.6%) answered correctly; The dentifrices most indicated were of the mark Colgate 87 (52.7%); With respect the Colgate Total 12, 24 (60%) indicated your active ingredient correctly. Conclusion - It was also observed a low note in the prescription of collutorium and also in the knowledge of the active ingredients of both the collutorium as the dentifrices
