RESUMO

O trauma por acidentes de trânsito é a principal causade morte em jovens. Avaliar as características acidentesde trânsito com vítimas fatais na região do AltoVale do Itajaí-SC, bem como analisar a cena e o meioambiente onde ocorreu o acidente. Foram avaliadas deforma retrospectiva 238 vítimas fatais de acidente detrânsito na região do Alto Vale do Itajaí, a partir de dadosobtidos dos boletins de ocorrência da polícia rodoviáriafederal, estadual e municipal de Rio do Sul-SC. Condutores,retas, pista seca, boas condições meteorológicas,pleno dia e finais de semana foram situações predominantesneste trabalho. Colisão frontal e envolvimentode 1 a 4 pacientes também foram preponderantes. Ouso de dispositivo de segurança esteve presente namaioria dos pacientes. Das 283 vítimas, obtivemos aalcoolemia de 155, a qual esteve presente em 41,22%destes, em que, para cada condutor etilizado notamoso envolvimento de 4,86 pacientes. A maioria dos óbitosenvolveu condutores durante colisões frontais. A cenado acidente e as condições meteorológicas não interferiramno desfecho destas ocorrências.

ABSTRACT

The trauma caused by traffic accidents is the leadingcause of death in young people. To evaluate the characteristicsof traffic accidents with fatalities in the AltoVale do Itajaí-SC, and analyze the scene and the environmentwhere the accident occurred. We evaluated retrospectively238 victims of fatal traffic accidents in theAlto Vale do Itajai, from data obtained from reports ofoccurrence of the federal highway police, state and cityof Rio do Sul-SC. Conductors, straight, dry conditions,good weather, daytime and weekends were situationsprevailing in this work. Frontal and involvement of 1 to4 patients were also prevalent. The use of safety devicewas present in most patients. Of the 283 victims, we obtainedthe alcohol of 155, which was present in 41.22%of these, in which, for each driver intoxicate noted theinvolvement of 4.86 patients. Most of the deaths involveddrivers during frontal collisions. The scene of theaccident and the weather did not affect the outcome ofthese events.
