Renovación del Análisis de Situación de Salud en los servicios de medicina familiar en Cuba / Renewal of the health situation analysis at the family medicine services in Cuba

RESUMEN

No existen dudas, acerca de la utilidad y la aplicación del Análisis de Situación de Salud en los servicios y sus aportes para facilitar la toma de decisiones. Al priorizarse su desarrollo como un instrumento científico-metodológico en los espacios docentes, su aplicación constituye una necesaria contribución al desarrollo del Sistema Nacional de Salud. Actualmente, mediante las denominadas transformaciones necesarias de este sistema, deberá renovarse la confección del Análisis de Situación de Salud, que es útil para los servicios de salud y no en el discurso, sino en la práctica. En este artículo, se sintetiza el desarrollo de este instrumento en la Medicina Familiar, se comentan algunos resultados de su aplicación en la docencia y los servicios y se resumen los objetivos de una propuesta de renovación, que prioriza su ejecución en los espacios-población representados por los consultorios y las áreas de salud. Se concluye que, una vez reconocida la contribución del Análisis de Situación de Salud para esclarecer la situación de salud de la población cubana y aceptadas las deficiencias en su aplicación, solamente resta iniciar su proceso de renovación, para contribuir a enfrentar los retos que se derivan de la actual coyuntura del Sistema Nacional de Salud y promover soluciones consecuentes, para los problemas de salud de mayor prevalencia

ABSTRACT

The usefulness and the applicability of the Health Situation Analysis in medical services and its contribution to facilitate the decision-taking are unquestionable. In giving priority to the development of the Health Situation Analysis as a scientific and methodological instrument in the teaching contexts, the application represents a necessary contribution to the development of the national health care system. Nowadays, through the so-called required transformations of this system, there should be renewed the making of the Health Situation Analysis, which is useful for the health services in practice rather than words. This article briefly explained the development of this instrument in family medicine, commented on some results of the use of this concept in medical teaching and in services, and summarized the objectives of a proposal that gives priority to the implementation of the Health Situation Analysis in the space-populations represented by the physician´s offices and the health areas. It was concluded that, once the contribution of the Health Situation Analysis to the clarification of the health situation of the Cuban population is admitted and the deficiencies in application accepted, then the only thing that remains to be done is to start a renewal process in order to face the new challenges derived from the present situation of the national health system and to promote consistent solutions for the most prevailing health problems
