Reflexiones sobre el desarrollo histórico social de la Atención Primaria de Salud / Reflections on the historical and social development of the primary health care

RESUMEN

Introducción: la Atención Primaria de Salud se ha convertido en la estrategia fundamental a desarrollar para lograr equidad en los servicios de salud. Objetivo: profundizar en el surgimiento y desarrollo histórico social de la Atención Primaria de Salud hasta nuestros tiempos. Desarrollo se evidencian los antecedentes y bases de su surgimiento así las conferencias y acontecimientos que han influenciado en su desarrollo. Conclusiones: la Atención Primaria de Salud está encaminada a lograr mayor equidad en el nivel de salud y en el acceso a los servicios, mejores resultados de salud a nivel poblacional, mejor eficiencia global del sistema, menores costos y finalmente, mayor satisfacción de los usuarios con los servicios de salud.

ABSTRACT

Introduction: the Primary Health Care has become the key strategy to achieve equity in health services. Objective: to delve into the emergence and the social and historical development of the primary health care up to the present times. Development the background and the bases for its emergence as well as the conferences and events that have influenced its development were shown in this article. Conclusions: the primary health care is aimed at achieving greater equity in health status and in access to services, better health results in the population, better overall efficiency of the system, lower costs and finally greater satisfaction of users with the health care services.
