La salud oral durante el embarazo es extremadamente importante para lograr que esta etapa se desarrolle de manera equilibrada, contribuyen- do así a la salud general de la madre y el futuro bebé. Durante esta etapa la madre puede estar expuesta a la aparición de procesos infecciosos, lesiones en la cavidad oral o sintomatología dolorosa, que en ocasiones son de difícil manejo debido a las precauciones que la condición de embarazo demanda, además de que alteran el normal desenvolvimiento del mismo; por ello la prevención es primordial durante este periodo. Oral health during pregnancy is extremely important to ensure that this stage develops in a balanced manner, thus contributing to the health of the mother and the baby.
