La comunicacin con el moribundo / Communicating with the terminally-ill patient

RESUMEN

En el presente articulo se discuten algunos elementos importantes en las relaciones del medico con el paciente que esta en fase terminal; con ellos se busca disminuir la incertidumblre; orientar la vida personal, familiar y social; analizar los pasos a seguir y definir la accion especifica para la solucion de lso problemas; clarificar las posiciones ante la vida y la muerte y humanizar la relacion del medico con el paciente moribundo. Se hace enfasis en el establecimiento de una comunicacion adecuada con el enfermo terminal, manteniendo el debido respeto por sus creencias, costumbres y formas de ver la vida

ABSTRACT

Some important elements of the relationship between physicians and their terminally-ill patients are discussed; with them it Is Intended to humanize such relationship and, besides, to alleviate the patient's uncertainty; to orient his or her personal, familial and social life; to analyze the steps to be followed and to discern specific actions leading to the solution of problems; finally, to clarify positions towards life and death
