Roles of exosomes in lung diseases / 中国药理学通报

ABSTRACT

A variety of cells can secrete exosomes which contain abundant contents including proteins,lipids and nucleic acids. Under physiological and pathological conditions,exosomes and their contents can mediate intercellular material transportation and signal transduction， thereby participating in cell proliferation and apoptosis,migration and differentiation， tumor invasion and metastasis， inflammation and other processes. Studies have shown that exosomes can participate in the pathological process of lung diseases meanwhile,exosomes and their contents can be used as newtargets for the diagnosis， treatment and prognosis of lung diseases. Therefore， exosomes have arresting potential for clinical applications in lung diseases.
