ABSTRACT

Phospholipase A2 group VI, known as the PARK14 gene, a encoding calcium-independent phospholipase A2 beta (ipla2β) protein, which is one of the important phospholipases in human body. PLA2G6-associated neurodegeneration has many phenotypes. The causes and mechanisms of genetic mutations leading to different subtypes are not yet clear. The potential physiological and pathological pathways that ipla2β may be involved in are summed up in this review.
