ABSTRACT
Sarcomas of the retroperitoneum are characterized by a high rate of local recurrence. The most important factor for prognosis is the complete resection. However, invasion of major vessels may occur, making complete resection difficult. We report a 40-year-old male patient who had been treated with concomitant resection of retroperitoneal soft tissue mass, retroperitoneal leiomyosarcoma on histological examination, invading the abdominal aorta which showed active bleeding into the mass and reconstruction of the abdominal aorta. And then he was treated with aortic endovascular stent-graft insertion to prevent rupture and luminal narrowing of the abdominal aorta by extrinsic compression of enlarged remnant mass.
