Influence of family intervention on the medication compliance of patients with depression / 中国实用护理杂志

ABSTRACT
Objective We discussed the influence of family intervention on the medication compliance and treatment effect of patients with depression. Methods 60 patients with depression were divided into the test group and the control group with 30 cases in each group. The control group adopted routine treatment. The test group was given strengthened family intervention based upon routine treatment. The medication compliance was evaluated at the first day of visit and 6 months after treatment. The Hamilton depression scale (HAMD) was used to estimate the depression condition of these patients. The treatment effect was compared between the two groups. Results The medication compliance of the test group was better than that of the control group (X2=4.29, P<0.05). The HAMD score of the test group was lower than that of the control group (P<0.01). Conclusion Family intervention had positive effect on the medication compliance and treatment effect of patients with depression.
