Precise and accurate service in hospital library based on analysis of readers' needs for literature push / 中华医学图书情报杂志

ABSTRACT

The application frequency ( times) , the time difference between applied literature and its publication date, the number of journals and the need of literature in the 2850 applications for foreign full-text literature push service of hospital library readers in 2013-2014 were analyzed using the K-means clustering method, which showed that 50 readers were clustered into 3 groups readers who searched information for scientific research and teaching;readers who regularly read the update foreign full-text literature, and readers of the hospital-trained master and doctorial students. Clustering analysis of the readers helped us to know their reading demands and supported hospital library to provide precise and accurate literature service for the readers.
