ABSTRACT
Trichobakin (TBK) is a type I ribosom inactivating protein (RIP) from the plant Trichosanthes sp. BacKan 8-98 (Cucurbitaceae). This study introduces some results of experimental trial of TBK effects in vivo on the ascitic Sarcoma-180 (S-180) cancer cells in Swiss mice. Results: Injection TBK with dose of 40 µg/mice is effective in (1) inhibiting the growth of S-180 cells with rate of 99.9% after 15 days of S-180 cell transplantation, (2) increasing survival of treated mice up to 175% versus controlled mice in the 90 experimental day period
