ABSTRACT
OBJECTIVE:
To investigate the relationship between therapeutic effects of N-acetylcysteine(NAC) on animals with fulminant hepatic failure and contents of plasma amino-acidsMETHODS:
Plasma amino-acids were analysed as their precolumn derivatives with O-phthol-dialdehyde by reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatographic separation and fluorescence detectionRESULTS:
NAC could decrease the contents of plasma amino-acids,increase the ratio of BCAA/AAA and decrease the mortality of fulminant hepatic failure animalsCONCLUSION:
Therapeutic effects of NAC on animals with fulminant hepatic failure were related to its effect on the contents of plasma amino-acids
