Oxidized low density lipoprotein increases the expression of matrix metalloproteinase-2 in vascular endothelial cells / 中国病理生理杂志

ABSTRACT

AIM: To investigate the effects of oxidized low density lipoprotein (OX-LDL) on expression of matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2) in human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC). METHODS: The MMP-2 mRNA was determined by reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), MMP-2 protein was measured by western blotting and MMP-2 activity in conditioned medium was observed by gelatin zymography.
