ABSTRACT
In the traditional Chinese culture, the three major philosophical doctrines including Buddhism,Confucianism, and Taoism all contain different and significant views and recognitions towards life.Confucianism builds the morality origin by benevolence, takes a positive look at human existence, and stresses the harmony and balance in the complex relations among individual, family, society, nation, and the whole universe. In the basic bioethical orientation,Confucianism takes human as morality actioners, and the human world as morality community. All those ideas are not only precious bioethical values, but also significant revelations in modifying the direction of western bioethics. Therefore, the western research method of reason analysis can be applied in analyzing the Confucian morality orientation which cares life and sympathizes the weak, and addressing basic arguments in current Confucian bioethics.
