ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and platelet drived endothelial cell growth factor (PD-ECGF) and their influence on the clinicopathological characteristics and the prognosis in aged patients with gastric carcinoma. Methods The expression of VEGF and PD-ECGF were examined with immnunohistochemical technique through preoperative biopsied specimens in 92 cases. Results The expression of VEGF and PD-ECGF were significantly higher in gastric carinoma than in chronic atrophic gastritis.
