ABSTRACT
In order to develop a more efficient method for the cultivation of human epidermal cells suitable for use in the treatment of burns, a culture model using fibronectin coated substrate was established, and the effects of concentration of FN and density of epidermal cells on growth of the cells were evaluated. These results show thatthe cultured model is an effective, and simple method for cultivation of human keratinocytes and it is worthy of clinical trial. The cultured autologous epidermal cell sheets were grafted onto burn wound in 4 burn patients. In two of them the gafts grew into multi-layered keratinocyte epithelium.
