ABSTRACT
Objective:
To evaluate the antileukemic activity and side effects of topotecan in patients with refractory and relapsed acute myelogenous leukemia(AML).Method:
12cases of refractory and relapsed AML were treated with topotecan combined with chemotherapy,8 accepted 1 course,and the others accepted 2 courses.Result:
4 patients achieved complete remission.3 had partial remission.The total response rate was 58%.The main side effect was myelosuppression.Conclusion:
The topotecan-based induction therapy has antileukemic effect in some patients with refractory and relapsed AML.
