ABSTRACT

Objective:

to study alexithymia of long-term survivors of cancers.

Method:

to compare 36 long-term survivors of cancers and 45 normal controls with TAS (Toronto alexithymia scale) and SCL-90.

Result:

there was no significant difference between the two groups in total score of SCL-90. But the survivors had significant higher score in TAS than controls.

Conclusion:

although long-term survivors are similar in symptom level to normal control, they still have obvious alexithymia.
