ABSTRACT

Objective:To study the data collecting from mental assistance hotline for SARS in Beijing to find the psychological changes of the local citizens from the end of April to the first part of June, 2003 Methods:Quantitative statistic and qualitative method were used to analyse the data got from the hotline Result:The data showed there were three psychological phases panic, irritancy and recovering phases among Beijing citizens during the SARS epidemic The importance of setting a national disasters and crisis intervention system was also pointed out at authors at the end of this paper
