Biocompatibility of skin biological dressings / 中国组织工程研究

ABSTRACT
Skin can maintain homeostasis and prevent from microorganisms, the loss of skin barrier may be related to many local or general infections after trauma. Biological dressing can seal trauma wound as soon as possible, reduce the risk of infections resulted from pathogenic bacteria on trauma wound, and increase the survival rate of severe patients. Biological dressing is a hot topic in the application researches about the healing of skin trauma wound. An ideal biological dressing is satisfactory in histocompatibility, permeability, gas permeation, and mechanical function. It can control and absorb the effusion on trauma wound, prohibit bacterial invasion and induce bacteriostasis, protect new tissues and facilitate trauma healing, so as to provide a micro-wet, micro acid and hypoxic environment for the trauma. At present, the biological dressings for the skin trauma mainly include pigskin, amnion, collagen, chitosan, alginic acid, aquogel and nano-dressing, etc.
