Chemical constituents of amides from Zanthoxylum planispinum / 中草药

ABSTRACT

Objective:

To study the chemical constituents of Zanthoxylum planispinum.

Methods:

The compounds were isolated and purified by repeated silica gel column chromatography, Sephadex LH-20 gel column chromatography, and preparative HPLC. Their chemical structures were identified on the basis of physico-chemical properties and spectral analysis.

Results:

Seven amides were isolated and elucidated as (2E, 7E, 9E)-N-isobutyl-6,11-dioxo-2,7,9-dodecatrienamide (1), armatamide (2), pellitorine (3), lanyuamide I (4), tetrahydro-bungeanool (5), hydroxy-γ-isosanshool (6), and dihydrobungeanool (7).

Conclusion:

Compound 1 is a new unsaturated alkylamide named planispinamide, and compounds 2-7 are obtained from this plant for the first time.
