ABSTRACT
OBJECTIVE:
To optimize the formulation and manufacturing process of Dendrobium officinale buccal tablets.METHODS:
Dendrobium officinale buccal tablets was prepared by ethanol granulating method. The formulation and manufacturing process were optimized by using orthogonal design with dissolution rate, qualified rate of tableting, the flowability of granules, and the taste of the tablets as indices.RESULTS:
The optimized formulation contained Dendrobium, officinale powder, mannitol, microcrystalline cellulose, glucosum anhydricum, and sodium carboxymethyl starch in the ratios of 2120.30.16. The granulation was performed with ethanol at an amount of 60% of inventory. The products showed rapid dissolution rate, stable quality, and good shape and taste.CONCLUSION:
The optimized formulation and manufacturing process are successful to prepare Dendrobium officinale buccal tablets.
