ABSTRACT
This article reports the clinical manifestations, auxiliary examination, diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of a congenital granular cell epulis (CGCE) case. A baby girl was admitted to Children's Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine seven hours after birth due to difficulty in oral feeding caused by an oral cavity tumor detected prenatally. A palatine surgical resection was performed under general anesthesia based on imaging and related examination findings after admission. The patient was diagnosed as CGCE according to the pathological findings and discharged. During the follow-up, a new tooth emerged from the tumor resection site two weeks after discharge. The affected tooth was extracted at the Department of Stomatology of the hospital four weeks after discharge. The patient has no recurrence at follow-up visits till four months after the operation.
