Conhecimento das gestantes com sífilis sobre a doença e perfil sociodemográfico em uma UBS e Hospital Maternidade da zona norte de São Paulo / Knowledge of women with syphilis on the disease and sociodemographic profile in a UBS and Hospital Maternity of the north of São Paulo zone

RESUMO

Objetivo ­ Identificar o nível de conhecimento de gestantes sobre a sífilis, visando promover os cuidados preventivos. Método ­ Pesquisa do tipo transversal, descritivo, com abordagem quantitativa. Participaram 13 gestantes com sífilis que responderam um questionário sociodemográfico e sobre a doença durante as consultas médicas de rotina realizadas tanto em uma UBS como em um Hospital Maternidade da zona norte de São Paulo. Essa pesquisa foi aprovada pelo CEP UNISA sob o parecer de número 2.492.364, pelo CEP do Hospital Municipal e Maternidade-Escola Dr Mario de Moraes sob o parecer de número 2.592.842 e pelo CEP da Secretaria Municipal da Saúde de São Paulo SMS/SP sob parecer de número 2.651.416. Resultados ­ Diante deste estudo revelou-se que os casos de sífilis em gestantes foram predominantes na faixa etária jovem, de maioria parda, nível de escolaridade sendo o ensino médio não necessariamente completo. Para análise dos resultados das questões sobre o conhecimento aplicou-se o teste G de COCHRAN para estudar o conhecimento das gestantes em relação ás questões apresentadas, fixado em 0,05 ou 5% a nível de significância. Ao se tratar do conhecimento das gestantes, relacionado ao que aconteceria com o recém-nascido caso o tratamento para sífilis não fosse realizado de forma adequada um pouco menos da metade das entrevistadas (46%)revelou que tinham a consciência da possibilidade de malformação e morte do neonato. Conclusão ­ O estudo indicou que mesmo com o conhecimento de como impedir o acometimento dessa afecção, ainda há falhas em adotar medidas de proteção no momento da relação sexual.

ABSTRACT

Objective ­ To identify the level of knowledge of pregnant women about syphilis, aiming to promote preventive care. Method ­ Cross - sectional, descriptive research with a quantitative approach. The participants, were 13 pregnant women with syphilis who answered a sociodemographic questionnaire and about the disease during routine medical visits performed at both a UBS and a Maternity Hospital in the north of São Paulo. This research was approved by CEP UNISA 2.492.364 and by CEP of the Municipal Hospital and Maternity-School Dr Mario de Moraes under 2.592.842 and by CEP of the Municipal Health Secretariat of São Paulo SMS / SP under 2.651.416. Results ­ In the case of syphilis in pregnant women, the predominant was the young age group, mostly brown, and the level of education was not necessarily complete. In order to analyze the results of the questions on knowledge, the COCHRAN G test was applied to study the knowledge of pregnant women in relation to the presented questions, set at 0.05 or 5% at the level of significance and when dealing with the knowledge of pregnant women, related to what would happen to the newborn if treatment was not adequately performed, a little less than half of the interviewees (46%) revealed that they were aware of the malformation and the possibility of neonatal death. Conclusion ­ The study indicated that even with the knowledge of how to prevent the affection of this condition, there are still failures to adopt protective measures at the moment of sexual intercourse
