RESUMEN Se detalla el inicio de la salud publica en la historia y el desarrollo que tuvo en el Perú en general y en particular su relación con eventos que impulsaron las mejoras en el ámbito de la salud materno-infantil, la anticoncepción y, posteriormente, en los derechos sexuales y reproductivos de las mujeres peruanas.
