A constituição dos cursos de formação inicial em Educação Física no Brasil / The constitution of the initial training courses in Physical Education in Brazil

RESUMO

Este artigo objetivou realizar um levantamento e reflexão referente a composição dos cursos de formação inicial em Educação Física (EF) no Brasil acerca do crescimento do número destes cursos ao longo da história com questões legislativas e exigências atuais do mercado. Realizou-se um levantamento dos cursos a partir das informações disponíveis no banco de dados do e-MEC, com tratamento estatístico descritivo, verificando a distribuição dos cursos em função da Região Administrativa, Currículo e Instituição, a partir da década de 30. De forma geral, observamos que houve um aumento considerável nos cursos de EF no país a partir da década de 70, havendo um novo impulso na década de 90. Atualmente, há 1152 cursos de EF (bacharel e licenciatura), e a região sudeste concentra aproximadamente 50% de todos os cursos de EF, sendo que a iniciativa privada é responsável por cerca de 77% de todos os cursos de EF no país. Nas Regiões Norte, Nordeste e Centro Oeste há uma predominância da licenciatura com 68% em relação ao bacharelado com 32%. As Instituições Ensino Superior seriam como agentes de desenvolvimento econômico e social, além do foco em áreas estratégicas/prioritárias de estudo e de pesquisa e fortalecendo nos últimos anos a internacionalização da educação superior. Houve, nos últimos 10 anos, um aumento massivo ao acesso ao ensino superior no País e de novas possibilidades estratégicas para a expansão e melhoria qualitativa para o ensino superior. Por fim, a Educação Física passou por diversas transformações em sua trajetória, mas a partir da década de 1990 observou-se um crescimento dos cursos de formação superior no Brasil, reflexo da legislação, como do Parecer 215/87 e Resolução 03/87, do reconhecimento enquanto profissão (Lei 9.696/98) e instituição das Resoluções 01 e 02/2002 e a 07/2004.(AU)

ABSTRACT

The objective of the present study was to make a survey and a reflection regarding the characteristics of the undergraduate courses on Physical Education (PE) in Brazil. In specific, we analyzed the increase of the courses' number on PE over the years, and its relation to the legislation and the labor market demand. The data were collected from e-MEC database, starting from 30th decade. Descriptive statistical treatment was performed to identify the distribution of the courses according to their administrative region, curriculum, and institution. The overall results showed considerable increase of the courses' number of PE from 70th decade, having another peak of rise on 90th decade. Nowadays, there are about 1.152 undergraduate courses on PE (with two curriculum orientations teacher and professional of physical education), being that approximately 50% of all courses are located in Southeast of Brazil. Besides, around 77% of the all courses on PE have been offered by private institutions. There is a prevalence of undergraduate courses of PE teacher education (68%) in comparison to PE professional (32%) in the North, Northeast, and Midwest regions. The High Education Institutes would be responsible for economic and social development, besides the focus to strategic areas of research which has promoted the strengthening of internationalization of the high education over the last years. There was a massive increase of admissions on high education and likewise of new strategic possibilities to expansion and improvement of it, over the last 10 years. In summary, the Physical Education had had many transformations in its history, but it was observed a significative increase of the undergraduate courses in Brazil from 90th decade, due to the new legislations, such as the Legal Opinion 215/87, the Resolution 03/87, the recognition of Physical Education as profession (Law 9.696/98), and lastly the Resolutions 01/2002, 02/2002, and 07/2004.(AU)
