Rastreamento e diagnóstico precoce de câncer colorretal / Screening and early diagnosis of colorretal cancer

RESUMO

O câncer colorretal apresenta alta incidência populacional e alto índice de mortalidade, fato relacionado principalmente ao estágio das lesões no momento do diagnóstico. Muito se tem investido no estudo dos diversos fatores predisponentes dessa neoplasia a fim de facilitar um diagnóstico mais precoce e aumentar as taxas de cura. Dessa forma, vem se buscando a educação da população em geral para os fatores de risco e a sintomatologia associada à doença, o estímulo ao acompanhamento médico e a realização de exames de rastreamento periódicos.

ABSTRACT

The colorectal cancer has a high population incidence and mortality, mainly related to the stage of the tumor at diagnosis. Much has been invested in studying the predisposing factors of this disease to facilitate earlier diagnosis and increase cure rates, seeking the education of the general population to the risk factors and symptoms associated with the disease, stimulating medical monitoring and periodic screening tests.
