A morte-corte do significante: entre Antígona e Equivalentes / The death-cut of the signifier: between Antigone and Equivalents

RESUMO

Ao falar sobre a morte na tragédia Antígona, Lacan (1959-1960/1997) desenvolveu o que seria a segunda morte do sujeito, e esta o conduziu à função significante de corte e desnaturalização. Este artigo tem como questão central o que seria o significante em sua função de morte-corte. Para isso, tomando a posição lacaniana de que a função do belo indica a relação do sujeito com sua própria morte, propusemos um diálogo com a série fotográfica Equivalentes de Stieglitz, que produziu a desnaturalização das imagens.

ABSTRACT

Discussing death in the tragedy Antigone, Lacan (1959-1960/1997) developed what came to be the second death of the subject, which led to the signifier's function of cut and denaturalization. The main issue of this article is what would be the signifier in its death-cut function. Therefore, taking upon the Lacanian position, according to whom the function of the beautiful indicates the subject's relationship with his/her own death, we proposed a dialogue with the photographic series "Equivalents" by Stieglitz, who produced the denaturalization of images.
