A construção discursiva da autoridade e do saber salesianos no jornal Diário do Comércio de São João del-Rei em meados do século XX / The discursive construction of Salesian authority and erudition in the newspaper Diário do Comércio from São João del-Rei in the mid-twentieth century

RESUMO

Neste artigo, descrevemos o processo de construção discursiva da autoridade e do saber salesianos no âmbito da Educação e Psicologia em São João del-Rei, Minas Gerais. Investigamos um corpus composto por recortes do jornal Diário do Comércio, publicados entre 1958 e 1961, arquivados no Centro de Documentação e Pesquisa em História da Psicologia da UFSJ. A leitura cuidadosa e repetida dos recortes e o levantamento de informações sobre o contexto de produção, construção e interpretação do discurso analisado inspiram-se na proposta metodológica de Patrick Charaudeau. Identificamos a criação e funcionamento do Laboratório de Psicologia Experimental da Faculdade Dom Bosco como acontecimento discursivo que favoreceu, localmente, o enaltecimento dos salesianos como grandes educadores. Na prática, o Laboratório se transformou em espaço científico de oferta de serviços psico-pedagógicos, concretizados no Centro de Estudos Pedagógicos, no Círculo de Pais e Mestres e na formação do orientador educacional.(AU)

ABSTRACT

In this paper, we describe the process of discursive construction of Salesian's authority and erudition in the field of education and psychology in São João del-Rei, Minas Gerais. We investigated a corpus consisting of newspaper clippings from the "Diário do Comércio", published between 1958 and 1961, and archived at the Center for Research and Documentation in History of Psychology at the UFSJ. A careful and repeated reading of the clippings, and the collecting of information about the context of production, construction and interpretation of the discourse analyzed were based on the methodological proposal of Patrick Charaudeau. We identified the establishment and operation of the Laboratory of Experimental Psychology of Don Bosco College, as a discursive event that locally favored the exaltation of the Salesians as great educators. Practically, the Laboratory became a scientific space for offering psycho-pedagogical services which were concretized in the Education Studies Centre, in the Parents and Teachers' Circle and in the school counselor training.(AU)
