RESUMO
A dança tem sido uma forte aliada à promoção de saúde, ao propiciar aprendizagem de ritmos variados, o que instiga a participação do público idoso. O objetivo deste estudo foi analisar os hábitos pregressos e atuais de atividade física e de lazer em idosos praticantes de dança de um programa de extensão universitária. Por meio de ficha diagnóstica, entrevista semiestruturada e diário de campo, observou-se que a dança fez parte do curso de vida da maioria dos participantes, apresentando benefícios biopsicossociais nas diferentes fases. Entende-se que a dança pode ser uma atividade física que, praticada ao longo da vida, poderá contribuir para um envelhecimento ativo.
ABSTRACT
The dance have been considered a strong ally to health promotion, the dance provide learning with varied rhythms and instigate the participation of the elderly public. The aim of this study was to analyze the previous history and current habits of physical activity and leisure in elderly practitioners dance of a university outreach program. For data collection was used diagnosis record, semi-structured interviews and field diary. It was observed that the dance was present in the life course of most participants, with benefits biopsychosocial at different stages. It is understood that the dance, when practiced throughout life, can contribute to active aging.
