Embarazo en adolescentes: una mirada desde el cuidado de enfermería / Teen pregnancy: a view from the nursing care

RESUMEN

El embarazo en adolescentes es un problema de salud pública a nivel mundial ya que en la mayoría de los casos este afecta negativamente la salud de la madre, del hijo por nacer y del niño, y adicionalmente puede ocasionar alteraciones en la calidad de vida no solo de ellos, sino de la familia y la sociedad.\r\nEs por lo anterior que se realiza una revisión del tema incluyendo inicialmente quién es y las características del adolescente, las repercusiones que tiene el embarazo en la adolescencia a nivel emocional, físico, sociocultural y económico, y las intervenciones frente al cuidado de enfermería, orientadas a la prevención del embarazo y a la disminución de complicaciones que se pueden presentar en la joven madre y su hijo.

ABSTRACT

Teen pregnancy is a worldwide public health problem, as it negatively affects the mother, the unborn child and his future health and may additionally cause changes not only in the child's quality of life but also in the child's family and in the society. We review this matter including the identity and the characteristics of the adolescent, the implications of the pregnancy at the emotional, physical and sociocultural level, and the economic interventions of nursing care, oriented towards the prevention of pregnancy and the decrease of complications that may occur in the young mother and her child.
