ABSTRACT

Throat swabs were effectuated from 150 children with pharyngitidis. The rapid indentification of group A Streptococci directly from throat swabs was perfomed by the micronitrous acid extraction and latex agglutination test. The results were compared with those of the culture. The group A Streptococcus was found in 57 cases. Compared with the culture method, the acid extraction latex agglutination test has a sensitivity of 76%
