ABSTRACT
Submandibular salivary gland neoplasms are rare and have a high incidence of maIignancy with aggressive nature. Twenty one cases have been presented in this study with varification of various pathological subtypes. Excisional biopsy with removal of both the submandibular salivary gland and the related tumour is considered quite adequate for microscopically proven benign tumours requiring no further management. For malignant tumours more aggressive line of treatment was attempted a combination of both aggressive tumour bearing area resection followed by radiotherapy. We think that only by this aggressive combined approach can we hope to decrease the number of failure of local treatment
