value of internal urethrotomy in the management of urethral syndrome and lower urinary tract infection

ABSTRACT

Urethral syndrome in females is a troublesome symptom complex disease of obscure pathology. Different therapeutic modalities have been tried previously with variable unsatisfactory results. In the present work internal urethrotomy using Hertel urethrotome has been used. It was successful in 92.6% of cases of urethral syndrome and in 75% of cases of L.U.T.I. Internal urethrotomy is a safe, simple procedure and useful line of treatment in these cases
