The unilateral translucent lung always presents interesting differential possibilities. We report a patient with a bronchial carcinoid who showed an unusual 'changing lung' in serial chest X-rays. This case also illustrates that an accurate clinical history and physical examination along with a careful study of the chest X-rays is all important in the diagnosis
