ABSTRACT
In this report we present four patients with pain and muscular rigidity of the neck shortly followed perianal operation conducted under general anaesthesia. Two males and two female patients, all of them are physically good and well nourished. They were initially considered to have simple ligamentous sprain during intubation so far the initial plain cervical radiography was normal. They did not show any response to a course of NSAIF drugs. Cardinal radiographic changes of spinal tuberculosis in cervical vertebrae appear 4 to 6 weeks later. All patients showed subjective response to antituberculous chemotherapy. They were followed for a period of 6 to 24 months
