ABSTRACT
Patients with one or more congenitally missing teeth [Hypodontia] in both deciduous and/or permanent dentition frequently present in our clinical practice. Hypodontia has a multitude of adverse affects that could be detrimental to normal function and aesthetics. This paper attempts to focus on the etiology, classification, clinical features and treatment modalities of this common dental anomaly. The importance of genetics has been increasingly recognized in recent years with respect to the understanding of dental anomalies such as tooth agenesis
