ABSTRACT
Since July 1979, 30 eyes in eighteen patients with established chronic glaucomas due to different causes were treated medically. The eye drops, used were Pilocarpine 2%, 4%, Eppy 1%. and the new drop Timoptol 0.25%-0.5%. These drops were used either alone or in combination; sometimes Diamox Tab. 250mg [2-3] daily were added. The intraocular pressure measurement revealed that patients who had uncontrolled pressure with Pilocarpine were found to be uncontrolled with Timoptol or Eppy, but addative action of these drops especially Timoptol and Pilocarpine, reduced the pressure to below 20mm Hg in most cases. Timoptol was found to be superior to Eppy in some cases. Surgical treatment was applied to all patients who did not respond to medical treatment
