ABSTRACT

Lasik (laser in situ keratomileusis (1)) has been selected among the present refractive technique due to the advantages it has over the others. Nevertheless, this procedure has certain settled parameters that have to be respected to obtain satisfactory results. Thus, indications (-2 to -20 diopters) must be considered bound to the complementary studies of corneal topography, pachymetry and refraction, having discarted evolutive pathologies. Cheking up equipments is of great importance. Surgical procedure must consider each minute step marking the epithelial face, placing the suction ring to cut the cap with gentle movements to avoid irregularities.
