RESUMO
Ureteral carcinoma is a rare disease, corresponding to only 1 percent of all primary tumors or the upper urinary tract. Among these tumors, less than 7 percent are squamous cell carcinoma. The etiopathogenesis, as well as the natural history and therapy are still not defined. The authors present a case of primary squamous cell carcinoma of the ureter with renal metastasis, as an incidental finding during nephroureterctomy. The therapeutic procedure is discussed and the literature reviewed
