História recente e perspectivas atuais da pesquisa de resultados em psicoterapia psicanalítica de longa duração / Recent history and current perspectives of outcome studies on long-term psychoanalytic psychotherapy

RESUMO

Este artigo apresenta a história recente - dos anos 90 a janeiro de 2006 - e as perspectivas atuais da pesquisa de resultados em psicoterapia psicanalítica de longa duração com pacientes adultos em ambulatório. São analisadas e citadas 21 investigações, das quais quatro foram desenvolvidas na América Latina e apenas uma no Brasil. Isso demonstra que, apesar da evolução nas investigações psicanalíticas de resultado, nos países latinos, o número de pesquisas ainda é escasso. A efetividade da psicoterapia psicanalítica é demonstrada de maneira significativa, com diversos delineamentos de pesquisa. Percebe-se uma evolução na metodologia de pesquisa utilizada nas investigações no decorrer dos anos. A preocupação em colocar a investigação psicanalítica consoante com princípios científicos, sem desconsiderar a subjetividade característica dessa abordagem, é marcante. Ressalta-se a importância da investigação psicanalítica para confirmar os pressupostos do corpo teórico e a eficácia/efetividade do tratamento e possibilitar a refutação e modificação da teoria psicanalítica.

ABSTRACT

This article shows the recent history (from the 1990's to January 2006) and current perspectives of outcome studies on long-term psychoanalytic psychotherapy in adult outpatients. Twenty-one inquiries are cited and analyzed, of which four were developed in Latin America and only one in Brazil. This shows that research is still scarce in Latin-American countries, despite the advances on outcome psychoanalytical investigations. The effectiveness of psychoanalytic psychotherapy was evidenced in a significant manner by several different research outlines. An evolution in research methodology used over the past years could be observed. The concern about placing the psychoanalytical investigation in association with scientific principles, without disregarding the subjectivity characteristic of this approach, is remarkable. The importance of psychoanalytical investigation to confirm the presupposed theory, the treatment efficacy/effectiveness and the possibility of refutation and modification of the psychoanalytical theory stand out.
