O movimento dos idosos: um novo movimento social? / The elders' movement: a new social movement?

RESUMO

Apresentamos neste artigo a síntese da dissertação de mestrado O movimento dos idosos, um novo movimento social?, na qual analisamos as várias formas de participação e organização dos idosos, com ênfase nas Associações de Aposentados e no Grande Conselho Municipal dos Idosos de São Paulo. Buscamos compreender as diferenças da prática política desses grupos e por que não integram suas lutas, permanecendo separados e com resistência a se unificarem.

ABSTRACT

This article presents a summary of the Master's thesis O movimento dos idosos im novo movimento social? (The elders' movement a new social movement?), in which the several forms of participation and organization of the elderly are analyzed, highlighting the Associations of Retired People and the Great Municipal Council of the Elderly in São Paulo. The aim is to understand the differences of the political practice of these groups and the reason why they do not unite their struggles, remaining separated and resisting against unification.
