RESUMO
Este estudo tem como objetivo analisar o papel da sociabilidade da comida na vida de idosos com restrições alimentares. Adotou-se a pesquisa qualitativa com entrevista semi-estruturada, realizada com dez indivíduos entre 60 a 86 anos que tinham restrições alimentares. O estudo mostra que a comida é um elemento-chave para o gozo e bem-estar na velhice, por estar impregnada de afeto, emoção, alegria e sociabilidade.
ABSTRACT
The objective of this study is to analyze the role played by food sociability in the lives of elders with alimentary restrictions. Qualitative research with semi-structured interviews was apllied to 10 individuals with ages between 60 and 86 years who had alimentary restrictions. The study shows that food is a key element for the joy and well being of the elderly, as it is impregnated with affection, emotion, happiness and sociability.
