ABSTRACT
It is risky to try to tackle an deeper issue as it is meditation, with a verypragmatic model, as is the cognitive-behavioral psychology. However, if themodel is correct and flexible enough, and really could be explained byincreasing their explanatory power and generation of hypothesis powertoo, would also enhance its credibility. Doing it again put our heads in thelions mouth. But Kanfer and Karoly (1972) went alive trough theirexploration, which makes it possible to take them as models reinforced byhis audacity, and launching again. The work begins with the concept ofmeditation, the arrival of cognitive-behavioral psychology to meditation, theclinical effects of meditation and future prospects.
