A vergonha e sua relação com a prática esportiva: um estudo de caso / The shame and its relations with the sports practice: a case study

RESUMO

Nesta pesquisa objetivamos investigar as principais causas da vergonha (vergonha da exposição) em praticantes de voleibol do sexo feminino, verificando também, quais as maiores incidências da vergonha em diferentes situações dentro deste contexto. Participaram da pesquisa 11 garotas do Projeto de Extensão da UNESP / Rio Claro / SP / Brasil. Aplicando um questionário com 6 questões fechadas, agrupando e categorizando os dados, obtivemos como resultados: as situações de vergonha / exposição vergonha de ser incompetente na minha função e vergonha de não poder resolver alguma situação foram as que apresentaram maior incidência de porcentagem de aparição entre as atletas, seguido das situações vergonha de arriscar e vergonha de fazer ridículo durante um treino, e por ultimo vergonha de falar com meus companheiros durante o treino e vergonha de falar com meu técnico. Concluímos que as maiores situações de vergonha presentes nas atletas estudadas foram decorrentes das situações, respectivamente, vergonha-meta, vergonha ação e/ou vergonha-padrão, e por último, vergonha-pura e/ou vergonha-ação, conforme classificação de Yves de La Taille. Consideramos que a vergonha é um sentimento muito delicado quando manifestada pelo medo da exposição, e por isso merece uma maior atenção pelos profissionais do universo esportivo, no âmbito da Psicologia do Esporte.

ABSTRACT

In this research our main objective was to detect the main causes of shame (shame of exposition) in feminine volleyball players, checking the greatest shame incidences in different situations throughout this context. Eleven playersof the Extension Project from the UNESP / Rio Claro / SP / Brazil University participated. They answered a questionnaire with 6 questions, and the results obtained were the situations of shame of being incompetent in what Ido and not being able to decide upon a situation had been the ones that had presented greater incidence of percentage of appearance among the athletes, followed by the situations I’m ashamed of putting myself into risk andI’m ashamed of being ridiculous during a volleyball practice, and at last were I’m ashamed of speaking to my team during a volleyball practice and I’m ashamed of speaking to my coach. We concluded that the most embarassing situations presented among the studied athletes had been decurrent of the situations, respectively, shame-goal, shameaction and/or shame-standard, and at last, shame-pure and/or shame-action, as presented by the classification of Ives de La Taille. We considered that shame is a very delicate feeling when it’s expressed by the fear of exposition, and therefore it deserves greater attention by sports professionals in the scope of Sports’ Psychology.
