RESUMO

Assim como a revolução cognitiva na década de 1960 alterou as bases das psicoterapias comportamentais, a chegada dos paradigmas construtivistas causou uma outra grande revolução na história das abordagens cognitivas clássicas. Dessa forma, as concepções cognitivo- construtivistas de psicoterapia incorporam as emoções no entendimento do processo de mudançaem psicoterapia, não se restringindo às mudanças das crenças irracionais. Implicações para a prática clínica dessa perspectiva são apresentadas ao longo do texto.

ABSTRACT

As with the cognitive revolution in the 1960s changed the behavioralpsychotherapy principles, the appearance of the constructive paradigms caused another major revolution in the history of classic cognitive approaches. Thus, the cognitive constructive conceptions of psychotherapy incorporate emotions into the understanding of the changing process in psychotherapy, rather than limiting it to the change of irrational beliefs. Implications of thisview to clinical practice are presented along the text.
