RESUMO

O umbigo é um componente essencial à beleza do abdome e as cicatrizes periumbilicais decorrentes da sua transposição nas abdominoplastias podem prejudicar o resultado final deum abdome bem operado. Após uma breve revisão histórica, o autor demonstra técnica de neo-onfaloplastia simples, rápida, que evita cicatrizes aparentes e produz bons resultados,estimulando a sua utilização rotineira, em substituição à transposição umbilical, amplamente divulgada entre os cirurgiões plásticos.

ABSTRACT

The umbilicus is an essential feature of the beauty of the abdomen. Scars around it, caused by relocation during abdominoplasties, may harm the final results of a well performed surgery.After a brief historic review, the author presents a fast and simple method of neoumbilicoplasty that avoids visible scars and yields goods results, and therefore encouraging its routine utilization, in substitution of the reimplantation of the natural umbilicus, nowadays widely used by plastic surgeons.
