O papel da enfermagem frente ao monitoramento da dor como 5º sinal vital / Nursing role facing the monitoring of the pain as the fifth vital sign

RESUMO

A Agência Americana de Pesquisa e Qualidade em Saúde Pública e a Sociedade Americana de Dor preconizaram a avaliação e registro sistemático da dor, concomitante com os outros sinais vitais, instituindo ador como o 5º sinal vital. Porém, a dor continua sendo subtratada e subnotificada, pois poucos profissionais de saúde possuem conhecimento sobre este tema. O objetivo do presente estudo foi investigar sobre o papel da enfermagem frente ao monitoramento da dor. Consistiu-se de uma revisão bibliográfica de artigos de periódicos, realizada nas bases de dados MedLine por meio da PubMed e LILACS através da Bireme. Obteve-se uma amostra de nove artigos de periódicos, foram consideradas outras referências encontradas por meio de busca inicial. Da análise dos resultados, concluiu-se que a enfermagem, como integrante da equipe multidisciplinar, pode influenciar todo trabalho em equipe, portanto, o adequado preparo destes profissionais torna-se indispensável para que se alcance sucesso na administração da dor.

ABSTRACT

The American Agency of Investigation and Quality in Public Health and the American Pain Society recommended the evaluation and systematic registration of pain with the others vitals signs, instituting the painas the Fifth Vital Sign. Therefore, pain continues not to be treated and notified and few health professionals know about this issue. The objective of this study was to investigate the role of the nurse with relation to the monitoring of pain, through a bibliographic review of articles of newspapers carried out with databases MedLin ethrough PubMed and LILACS through Bireme. A sample of nine articles of newspapers was obtained, other references found through the initial search were considered. From the analysis of the results it is concluded that the nurse as one of the members of the multidisciplinary team can influence all the teamwork, therefore, the adequate preparation of these professionals is indispensable in order to reach success in the administration of pain.

La Agencia Americana de Investigación y Calidad en Salud Pública y la Sociedad Americana de Dolor recomendaron la evaluación y registro sistemático del dolor, junto con las otras señales vitales, instituyendo el dolor como la 5ª Señal Vital. Sin embargo, el dolor continúa siendo sub-tratada y sub-notificada, pues pocos profesionales de la salud poseen conocimiento sobre este asunto. El objetivo del presente estudio fue investigar sobre el papel de la enfermería frente a la monitorización del dolor. Se constituyó de una revisión bibliográficade artículos de periódicos, realizada en las bases de datos MedLine por medio de la PubMed y LILACS a través de Bireme. Se obtuvo una muestra de nueve artículos de periódicos, fueron consideradas otras referencias encontradas por medio de la búsqueda inicial. Del análisis de los resultados, se concluyó que la enfermería,como integrante del equipo multidisciplinar, puede influir en todo el trabajo en equipo, por lo tanto, el adecuado preparo de estos profesionales se torna indispensable para que se alcance suceso en la administración del dolor.
