ABSTRACT
Currently in maxillofacial medicine have been used specific plates and screw systems for each region that comprise as lower middle third, upper middle third, jaw and skull. Thus, each system must comply the geometry demands and the mechanical strength specifically for each region. Looking at these different applications and with the large increase in the use of this medicine, the necessity of optimization shows itself even more. It aims the reducing of the physical parts aiming a minimal loss of mechanical properties. This article aims to evaluate and compare the mechanical strength to the torque and the durability of coupling for transporting screws together with the corresponding drive of some of these different systems applied in this medicine area. The results obtained will be used scientifically to the development of this set, aiming the continuous improvement in this development process.
